I’ve been looking forward to watching the shortest sport on television that’s happening this weekend. So I reached for one of my favorite cocktail books that is always within reach of my home bar. “The Classic Craft Cocktail Recipe Book” written by my favorite, Claire McLafferty, has saved me on a number of occasions when I’ve had friends over to the apartment. It’s a great resource for easy to make cocktails. My favorite for this upcoming weekend is a southern charmer, the Mint Julep.
Strong, Cold, Refreshing
My first Kentucky Derby party was in 2010. To think of it, that was my first Mint Julep as well. It was one of my favorite events while living in Tuscaloosa, Alabama after graduating. A bought my first seersucker suit for just the occasion. For those who aren’t aware, Tuscaloosa is one of the hottest places in the South during the spring and summer months. Having the option of cotton to my typical woolen suits was a nice change.
