Great Bear Wax Co.

I met Jake at my first pop-up at Bustle in Edgewood/Homewood AL the night I launched Charlie. I loved candles, but never could find a scent that was right for my bachelor pad. While the candles aren't just enjoyed by men they fit nicely in my industrial interior themed apartment. He was the first brand I knew I wanted to work with.

Great Bear Wax Co. is a Birmingham, AL based company founded by Jake and his twin brother Josh where each candle is handmade with the scents that bring back memories of campfires, Christmas time, and cigars on the beach. We're very excited to have Great Bear Wax Co. as part of the Charlie fam.

Charles Ellis Sartorial

Chad started his menswear accessory designer label in 2012 after finding his inspiration and passion through working in a better menswear store in 2011. While enjoying conversations with made-to-measure representatives he came to appreciate the idea of custom and bespoke tailoring and why it was such an attractive option for consumers.

After leaving the advertising industry, well almost, in order to build his own label for menswear Chad has worked towards learning the art of hand-crafted menswear that he has found consumers for all over the world. Some of Chad's custom pieces take over 4k stitches to produce and an average of 6 hours. While not every piece is so labor intensive Chad enjoys offering his customers a unique experience in personalization.

Charles Ellis Sartorial is currently producing bracelets, pocket squares and neckerchiefs for Charlie.

Jarrod Smitherman

The newest find for our store is a school teacher from Cullman, Alabama. Jarrod was one of those exciting finds in that when checking out his collection of pens, stylus' and razors we asked the question, "But how are you making these?" When Jarrod told us at Charlie that he custom molds each wooden piece we jumped on the opportunity to be his Alabama retailer. Going further into the conversation we kept geeking out a little more over the mentality of his craftsmanship. Jarrod only uses certain wood for the razors because it's resistant to water and carefully sources his other hardware for similar reasons. Given that this is a second passion for Jarrod these pieces have limited availability so be sure to subscribe to the newsletter for updates on when they hit the store.
